Joshua Sledding down his slide

After a blizzard blew through Enid (2.5 inches of snow in 8 hours with 30 mph winds), the next day was perfect for playing out in the snow. Part of the adventure was to see how far Joshua could go after he went down his slide. He had a blast and I (dad)could not convince him to quit until about 10 tries. What a fun pre-Christmas surprise. He even made a snow angel in the snow but the picture did not quite turn out :(. So far he seems to like "winter"- as he never got cold in the 30 minutes we spent out back in 25 degree temps. Next up a ski run......

Abigail's 2 month check up

Here is a picture of Abigail doing her best to be the doll that is lying next to her.

Well there is no doubt Abigail is good and healthy. At her appointment on Tuesday, she weighed in at 12.2 lbs which is about the 75% category for baby weight. She is in the 50% for heigth as well. She is already trying to talk to us, too bad we do not understand the coo's yet. She is making it longer and longer into the night and pretty soon might be able to go through the night without getting up, that is if Dad does not wake up at the sound of a pin drop and think she is fussing again.

We are looking forward to Thanksgiving coming up and will be on the road to Dallas to visit Sara's sister and family. It will be a good trip and Joshua is super excited about seeing his cousin James and Granny and Pa Pa. Pictures to follow on that one.

Abigail's Dedication to the Lord

Today was an exciting day for us as we got to dedicate Abigail Elizabeth to the Lord. She was dressed in a 105 year old christening gown that her Great Great Grandfather wore. After a quick feeding before the ceremony she was ready and as quiet and peaceful as an angel. For those that don't know Abigail means "father's delight" and Elizabeth is Sara's middle name and also means "consecrated to God". We were asked to share an interesting story about her and we decided to share about her entrance into the world the day after Hurricane Ike. Which gave Sara's parents an opportunity to get the "***" out of dodge. They drove 9 hours after Hurricane Ike hit Houston/Galveston to meet their newest grandchild Abigail. This provided them a chance to spend quality time with their new Granddaughter while at the same time avoiding being without A/C and electricity for over a week.

Today was an awesome day and one we are excited to share with you. Now the real job hits, as parents we are trusted with teaching her about the Lord.
